About EEYCC

Who We Are

East End Youth & Community Centre (EEYCC) has been serving the North Shields community since 1964.

Originally founded as a Boys' Club, the centre has grown into a thriving charity and community hub that welcomes people of all ages. While much has changed over the last six decades, our purpose remains the same: creating opportunities for local people and helping young people reach their full potential.

Today, our building is home to youth activities, community groups, fitness classes, celebrations and events, making EEYCC a place where people can learn, connect and belong.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance quality of life by providing education, training, health, social and leisure opportunities for the people of North Shields.

We believe everyone deserves access to safe, welcoming spaces where they can build confidence, develop new skills, improve their wellbeing and become part of a stronger community.

Our Impact

At the heart of EEYCC is our Youth Club, providing affordable weekly sessions and holiday activities where children and young people can play, learn, make friends and grow in confidence.

Alongside our youth provision, we provide affordable spaces for community groups, local organisations, businesses and residents. Every room hire helps generate income that is reinvested into our charitable work, allowing us to keep our youth activities accessible to local families.

Our Future

More than 60 years after opening our doors, we're continuing to invest in our community. Guided by our trustees and supported by our staff, volunteers and partners, we're committed to ensuring EEYCC remains a welcoming place where everyone has the opportunity to belong, participate and thrive.
